Natalie Vaval is a Haitian-Salvadoran writer and journalist born and based in New York City. Attending The New School for her undergrad, she graduated in 2021 with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism + Design.

A pop culture enthusiast with a passion for introspective storytelling, Natalie’s work aims to highlight diverse marginalized communities and voices — especially within the Black and Latinx diaspora — as their stories intersect with entertainment, social justice, and culture-at-large (among many other subjects that pique her interest). Currently in her freelance era, her writing has been featured in GEN Magazine, Wig-Wag, REMEZCLA, FIERCE by mitú, Wearemitú and more.

When she isn’t glued to her laptop, you can probably find her wandering through bookstores despite having an extensive ‘TBR’ list, working towards perfecting her niche perfume collection, or cozying up to a movie on her never-ending watchlist.
